Benefits Consulting

Consulting services related to specific employee benefits programs, such as group life insurance, disability insurance, volunteer insurance protection, self-funding dental and vision benefits and correct use of an IRS Section 125 program are key services.

Disability Income Protection

The disability income protection plans offered, through PSBA Insurance Trust, are available to administrative employees, certified and non-certified teachers, and other non-certified employees working a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Short Term Disability Income Protection

This benefit is typically offered with first day coverage for accidents and a 7 day elimination period for sickness. The benefits is usually a small weekly amount to help employees who do not have enough sick days accumulated to reach the elimination period for a long term disability plan.

Long Term Disability Income Protection

Premiere - Our original plan requires full integration of sick days with the elimination period. Benefits do not begin until the elimination period is met AND all accumulated sick days are exhausted.

Standard - Once the elimination period is satisfied the employee then chooses to EITHER start receiving disability payments or continue using sick days, if available.

Flex - Occasionally school districts need to offer long term disability plans outside the scope of normal underwriting, in order to accommodate these special plans the PSBA Insurance Trust offers a program with very flexible benefit structuring.

Group Life Insurance

The PSBA Insurance Trust is pleased to provide your district and its employees with the opportunity to participate in our group term life insurance program. This program provides affordable term life insurance coverage and many other important features.

Section 125/TABS/Flexible Benefit Plans

For years, businesses and employees have enjoyed the tax savings benefits of a Section 125 program. Now, school entities nationwide are realizing the advantages of Section 125 plan, also known as cafeteria or flexible benefit plans.

 

Volunteer Risk Management Program

Recognizing that accident insurance protecting school entity volunteers has not been readily available, PSBA Insurance Trust has developed this affordable program.  All unpaid volunteers are covered while providing services to your school entity.

This policy offers primary coverage, it pays without regard to other coverage or medical plan.  Benefits are payable for accidental injuries reported within one year of occurrence.
